Ong Memorial Scholarship
We’re thrilled to announce the establishment of the William and Florence Ong Memorial Scholarship, a special tribute aimed at commemorating the enduring legacy of my beloved parents while supporting the educational endeavors of high school and college students.
This singular $1000 scholarship epitomizes the cherished values imparted by my parents – values such as compassion, resilience, and the power of community. Our commitment to fostering opportunities for personal growth and academic success propels us to offer this scholarship to an individual who embodies these fundamental principles.
To ensure a fair and inclusive selection process, we’re presenting three distinct avenues for applicants:
- Community Impact Award: Do you know someone who has made a positive impact in your community? Nominate them! We’re in search of stories showcasing individuals who have gone the extra mile to uplift others. The scholarship will be granted to the nominee whose story resonates most with our selection committee
2. Leadership Recognition: Are you or someone you know a natural leader? Whether it’s demonstrated through school projects, extracurricular activities, or community initiatives, we want to recognize those who exhibit exceptional leadership qualities. Nominations can be made by teachers, mentors, or peers, and the scholarship will be awarded to the student whose leadership shines the brightest.3. Diversity and Inclusion Initiative: Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our mission. We encourage applications from individuals who have championed efforts for diversity and inclusion within their school or community. Whether it involves promoting cultural understanding, advocating for marginalized groups, or fostering inclusivity, we aim to celebrate those driving positive change. The scholarship will be bestowed upon the student whose endeavors have made a significant impact in this regard.
We invite you to seize this opportunity and apply for the William and Florence Ong Memorial Scholarship. Let’s honor my parents’ legacy and pave the way for a brighter tomorrow!
The deadline for submissions is September 15th, 2024, and essays should be between 400-500 words. To submit nominations or applications, please send them to carl@agentongopen.com.
