FAQ: RULE 4: Bowling Balls: (UPDATED) All bowling balls used in competition must be on the current USBC Approved List and have a Worldwide Release Date on or before Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Any balls released after this date are not eligible for competition. Ball surfaces may not be altered once a squad begins.
Every ball in play must be on the USBC Approved List as of October 14, 2026. That's the cutoff. If it's not on the list by that date, it doesn't roll down the lanes at South Point that week. All bowling balls must have a worldwide release date on our before October 14th, 2026 to be eligible for the Agent Ong Open IV - "All In"
Once your squad begins, no surface alterations. No sanding, no polishing, no fresh Abralon between games. The ball you start the block with is the ball you finish the block with. Wipe with an approved towel, clean with an approved cleaner, and that's it.
Bring your arsenal built for the pattern, not built for adjustments you can't make. This is the same standard the majors run on, and it's the standard we're running at the $10,000 guaranteed first place event.
Questions on a specific ball? Check the USBC Approved List before you pack. Not on the list on October 14? Leave it home.
