The William and Florence Ong Memorial Scholarship – (2026)

We are honored to continue the William and Florence Ong Memorial Scholarship into its third year, celebrating the lasting legacy of my beloved parents while supporting high school and college students in their educational journey.

This annual $1,000 scholarship embodies the values my parents instilled – compassion, resilience, and community. Through this scholarship, we aim to uplift students who reflect these principles and are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

To create a fair and inclusive selection process, applicants may apply through one of three distinct award paths:

1. Community Impact Award

Do you know someone who has made a true difference in their community? Nominate them! This award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to help, inspire, or uplift others. The scholarship will be awarded to the nominee whose story of impact most resonates with our selection committee.

2. Leadership Recognition

Leadership isn’t just about titles, it’s about influence, integrity, and the ability to bring people together. Whether through school projects, volunteer efforts, or extracurricular activities, this award honors students who demonstrate strong leadership and initiative. Teachers, mentors, or peers are encouraged to submit nominations.

3. Perseverance & Grit Award

This award celebrates those who have faced life’s challenges head-on and refused to give up. It honors individuals who have overcome personal, academic, or financial obstacles with determination, strength, and an unbreakable spirit.
